ACADEMICS

Maxwell Adventist Academy is an American curriculum secondary school, established primarily for the children of Seventh-day Adventist missionaries. We are committed to empower students to become educated for eternity.

Classes

The school year runs from mid-August to the first week in June, with a break in December/January. The school year is divided into 4 quarters. 1st and 2nd quarter make up the first Semester, and the 3rd and 4th quarter make up the second Semester. One credit is given for classes that meet for one school year. Class time is 200 minutes per week for 180 days.

Testing

As an American curriculum school, all students are required to take the ACT prior to graduation. The ACT is a curriculum- and standards-based educational and career planning tool that assesses students’ academic readiness for college. We are an official testing center for the ACT examination.

Diplomas

Students may choose from 2 Diplomas:

       College Preparatory Diploma, 26 credits

General High School Diploma, 24 credits

The General High School Diploma has 1 less Math, 1 less Science, and no foreign language required.
